The Emma Goldman Clinic provides LGBT health services to the Iowa City community! Consider supporting them in this raffle event!

Information about the event:

The Emma Goldman Clinic (EGC) is the only feminist, non-profit, independent women's clinic in our immediate area. EGC promotes respectful, client-centered, participatory comprehensive health care in a non-judgmental environment. Fundraising goes to support services for low-income clients.

LGBT and allied students, faculty, and staff at the College of Law are invited to the spring welcome reception at the LGBT Resource Center, hosted by the UI health sciences colleges!
It will be held Wednesday, January 25, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, at the LGBT Resource Center, 125 Grand Avenue Court. Refreshments will be served!

Iowa Law students: The deadline for the Ramza-Fester Rainbow Rights Scholarship is Monday, November 14!
It's a $6,000 scholarship!

Send a list of things you have done to help the LGBT community here or anywhere (just a bullet point list will do) to Jessica Diers in the Financial Aid office by the deadline.

The Ramza-Fester Rainbow Rights Scholarship is open to bother residents and non-residents.

The Outlaws, along with a few other organizations at the College of Law, are hosting an educational event, titled "Defending Iowa's Courts: An Anniversary Event." This discussion consists of three panels of judges, journalists, and activists that will explore how judicial retention elections affect our community. The audience is invited to join the conversation at the conclusion of each panel.

On September 8 through 10, 2011, six Outlaws members attended the Lavender Law career fair and conference in Los, Angeles, California.

This is a record number of Iowa students attending, in a year that set a general attendence record. We are proud to have been a part of that. We hope that Iowa students will be a fixture at Lavender Law in the future! We are already looking forward to sending Iowa students to Lavender Law in Washington, D.C. in 2012!

In the concluding piece in SCOTUSblog's excellent same-sex marriage symposium, Dean Erwin Chemerinsky reviews the previous piece and reflects on the future for same-sex marriage before the Supreme Court.

The Health Sciences Colleges has invited students from the College of Law to join them at their reception at the LGBT Resource Center (125 Grand Avenue Court) on Aug. 31, 4:30-6:30pm! I hope to see you there!
